Chevrolet 2015 Canadian catalogue figures; vehicle height and curb weight vary by drivetrain, engine, trim and equipment.

Which cab and box combinations were offered?

Regular Cab trucks used a 6-foot-6-inch standard box or 8-foot long box. Four-door Double Cab models used a standard box. Crew Cab models offered a 5-foot-8-inch short box or the standard box. The name Extended Cab is sometimes used in listings, but Chevrolet called the 2015 four-door version Double Cab. Cab and box availability can differ by market or trim.

How much room is in each bed?

Factory inside-floor bed lengths are 69.3 inches (1,761 mm) for the short box, 78.9 inches (2,003 mm) for the standard box and 97.8 inches (2,483 mm) for the long box. Width between the wheel housings is about 51.0 inches (1,296 mm). Those are cargo-floor figures; they are not the same as overall vehicle length or the outside width of the cargo box.

  • Use overall length and wheelbase to plan garage and parking clearance.
  • For a camper, rack or tonneau cover, measure the actual truck and follow the accessory fitment chart.
  • For loading and towing, check the door-jamb GVWR, GAWR and tire/load labels.

Width, height and garage clearance

Chevrolet lists overall width of approximately 80 inches (2,032 mm) without accessories and mirrors. Height is roughly 73.5 to 74.2 inches across the documented cab/drivetrain configurations, before modifications. Mirrors, antennas, lifts, tires and roof accessories can increase the clearance required. Always measure the actual truck before entering a low garage.

Double Cab versus Crew Cab passenger space

The Double Cab rear legroom is approximately 34.6 inches (880 mm); Crew Cab rear legroom is approximately 40.9 inches (1,040 mm). Both offer rear seats, but the Crew Cab is better suited to regularly carrying adults or installing child seats. Seat trim and configuration also affect everyday comfort.

How much does each configuration weigh?

There is no single accurate curb weight for each cab and box because the engine, 2WD or 4WD system, trim and options change the weight. The Chevrolet catalogue provides GVWR ranges, but GVWR is the maximum permitted loaded vehicle weight, not curb weight. Use the specific build information and door labels, and weigh the truck when actual remaining payload matters.

Before working on your vehicle

Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
