Why a single tire size is misleading
Different 2015 Silverado 1500 trims, wheel packages and options used different sizes. An online list cannot supersede the door-jamb label. The label is also where you find the manufacturer’s pressure for the original tire configuration.
Replacement and rotation
Keep tire diameter, load capacity and construction compatible with the truck and four-wheel-drive system. Check pressures cold and torque wheel fasteners according to verified GM specifications. Uneven wear warrants an alignment and suspension check, not just a pressure adjustment.
- Read the driver-door placard before ordering tires.
- Check the spare tire and jack equipment.
- Recheck the torque after wheel service using manufacturer guidance.
Wheel fastener torque
The 2015 owner manual’s technical data lists a wheel-nut tightening torque of 140 lb-ft (190 N·m). Tighten in a crisscross sequence using a calibrated torque wrench and the correct wheel procedure. This is not an impact-wrench final setting; damaged studs, aftermarket wheels or unusual equipment need the applicable instructions.
Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
