This is for the 2015 Silverado 1500. A shared bolt pattern does not establish load rating, offset or brake clearance.
What is the 2015 Silverado 1500 bolt pattern?
It is 6 x 139.7 mm, also written 6 x 5.5 inches. The first number is the number of studs; the second is the diameter of the circle passing through their centres. Chevrolet Genuine Parts lists a 6 x 139.7 pattern for a replacement wheel fitting 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 models. This is a light-duty 1500 specification; do not assume it applies to Silverado 2500HD or 3500HD wheels.
What else matters when buying wheels?
Matching bolt pattern alone does not make a wheel safe. Confirm its hub-centre fit, offset, width, diameter, load rating, correct lug seat and compatible tire size. Brake-caliper clearance and any modified suspension also matter. Use the door tire label and wheel manufacturer’s fitment data for the individual truck.
- A wheel with the right bolt circle can still have the wrong centre bore, offset or load rating.
- Use correctly matched lug nuts and torque them with a calibrated wrench.
- Do not use a Silverado HD wheel-fitment listing as proof of 1500 compatibility.
Are six-lug GM wheels interchangeable?
Not always. Some other Chevrolet and GMC trucks use the same six-lug bolt circle, but the proper offset, centre-bore fit, brake clearance, wheel strength, lug-seat shape and tire diameter still need checking. Never buy a wheel solely because an advertisement says it is a six-lug Chevy wheel.
After installing wheels
Tighten in the manufacturer’s specified sequence on clean, properly seated wheel hardware. Check tire pressure cold, confirm that nothing touches the brakes or suspension at full steering lock, and follow the wheel maker’s recheck guidance after initial driving. Never apply lubricant to wheel studs unless the vehicle service instructions explicitly call for it.
Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
